I have had this product with the back pad for a month now, and need to let people know that if you have an inguinal hernia, THIS PRODUCT WILL MAKE YOUR LIFE LIVABLE AGAIN, AND WITH LITTLE TO NO DISCOMFORT!!! I have a rt. side inguinal, which was pushing it's way toward the scrotum, and unless I continually pushed it back in place, was very uncomfortable, and that relief was short lived if I was on my feet, most of the time. I used the best 'supports' I could find, incl. one from UK, with pads and straps, etc.. which cost nearly as much as this spring truss! And they failed MISERABLY. They simply couldn't put pressure deep enough in the right place. I have a slim waist, so there is a 'cavity' in the area of the hernia. You know how when you put your fingers on the hernia, and push or hold it in, and try to move around and work or whatever? And you need your hands, and the fingers get tired holding that sucker in... Well, this does EXACTLY what your fingers do... it puts DEEP (soft) but firm pressure on that exact spot, no matter what your position is!! WOW! It has a covered steel spring imbedded in the waist band. From the MOMENT I put this device on, and got it properly adjusted (I have a 34" mmt. at the hip bone...don't get it too large or too small!) I KNEW THIS WOULD DO THE JOB, and I haven't been disappointed. It is a bit uncomfortable when riding in the car or truck, as the back brace can push against you (against the seat back), but if you set your seat right, and solve that matter, the rest of the time it's fantastic. Bending over, lifting, kneeling, walking, running... no problem!! :) I thank God and the inventor of this device. I can now wait till I have the funds, and best options for surgery to fix it on my terms, not out of urgency! Don't waste your money on those cheap supports, unless you have a really mild type of hernia and that works for you. P.s. I also put a cloth cover around the back pad, as when you are active and sweat, that can start to irritate. I cut the top off a cotton white sock and slipped it over the back brace. Don't even feel it now, even on a hot sweaty day. I also put a piece of double sided (self stick)velcro inside the loop on the belt that holds the groin strap in place, to keep it where it doesn't ride over into your butt! That works perfectly, and you just forget you have it on, mostly!! :) This product is USA made, and is of such quality that it looks like it will last a LIFETIME! REALLY! Made in the USA! Isn't that wonderful? Thanks, Hernia Products. Best regards, Jay in ND
